San Miguel Arcángel, the biggest olive marc producer in Europe, has trusted in we to develop its plant in Villanueva del Arzobispo (Jaén), to design, manufacture and install a turnkey water-tube steam boiler for the combustion of biomass, specifically olive marc. This biomass, derived from the process of extracting oil from olives, is characterised by its high calorific value.
However, this waste also presents a problem related to its ash content and its low melting point, so a specific design of an industrial multi-pass water-tube steam boiler has been developed to counteract the effect of fouling on the heat exchange body.
The boiler, with a steam output of 15 Tn/h and an equivalent thermal output of 11 MW, is based on the Eckrohrkessel design, a model of the leading German engineering and technology company ERK. we is the only licensee of the company in Spain.
This boiler, with an operating guarantee of 8,000 hours per year, has replaced the previous equipment and allows to save an important consumption of diesel oil, since it uses the by-product of the plant itself, the olive cake, as fuel for the generation of process steam, turning the installation into a success case of circular economy.
In addition to the boiler, we has supplied the combustion system with step grate, the company’s own technology, the control system and the smoke treatment to guarantee the quality of the emissions to the atmosphere, according to 2015/2193 directive.

In recent years, the Sri Lankan government has concentrated on developing the economy. A paper company has seized the opportunity to accelerate reforms, and its output has also flourished, and there has been a gradual shortage of supply. As a result, the company urgently needs to purchase a stable steam boiler to meet production. After investigation, the company finally purchased a 15-ton szl series biomass steam boiler from ZBG.
The paper mill operates an advanced pulp and paper manufacturer manufacturing facility, producing many types of quality writing and printing papers. This 15-ton biomass steam boiler will be used in the production process of concentration, bleaching and drying in the papermaking process.
In the boiler operation, biomass fuels are burnt and produce hot gas transferring heat to water. SZl series biomass steam boiler have better response to steam demand and they can produce steam at high pressure and high capacity. In the szl series biomass steam boiler, fuel will be fed at one side and then the iron chain will bring it moving and burning along the combustion chamber. The combustion air comes from beneath of the grate. According to the characteristics of different fuels, the boiler can optimize the design of the width, length, grate speed, primary and secondary air ratio, and the position and direction of the secondary air outlet to ensure the boiler output and thermal efficiency, run smoothly.
