Types of Boilers Used in Power Plants

A power plant or a power generating station, is basically an industrial location that is utilized for the generation and distribution of electric power in mass scale, usually in the order of several 1000 Watts.
Types of power plant boilers

1. According to the purpose of production:
Pure power boiler: steam turbine generator impeller rotary power generation to provide steam power;
the turbine impeller rotates to generate electricity, while providing steam or power for industrial production.
2. According to the combustion or heat source points: coal fired power plant boiler, gas fired power plant boilers, biomass power plant boiler, oil fired power plant boiler, waste heat power plant boiler.
3.According to the medium circulation way: natural circulation boiler, forced circulation boiler, direct current boiler.
4. According to the pressure of the medium:
a. Ultra-supercritical boiler: P ≥ 27.0MPa or rated outlet temperature ≥ 590 ℃ boiler;
b. Supercritical boiler: 22.1MPa ≤ P ≤ 27.0MPa;
c. Subcritical boiler: 16.7MPa ≤ P ≤ 22.1MPa;
d. Ultra-high pressure boiler: 13.7MPa ≤ P ≤16.7MPa;
e. High pressure boiler: 9.8MPa ≤ P ≤ 13.7MPa;
f. Sub-high pressure boiler: 5.4MPa ≤ P ≤ 9.8MPa;
g. Medium pressure boiler: 3.8MPa ≤ P ≤ 5.4MPa.
